Flights

Students will be collected from Bordeaux Airport by Danièle or our driver Michel and driven to the house (located approximately one hour away from the airport). There are regular flights from the UK to Bordeaux with EasyJet and British Airways.

Please note that we ask that parents and students do their utmost to book flights to arrive between 10am and 3pm. However we do understand that this is not always possible and we can collect outside of those times.

Students should arrive at Bordeaux Airport on the first day of their course and depart on the last day so as not to overlap with other courses. All students will be driven to the airport at the end of their course and seen safely on to the plane. Airline websites that may be of use:

Driving

You can drive to Sabres in a day from Southern England. It takes about nine hours to drive the 970km from Calais to the house if you stay on the motorways. The motorway tolls come to about 65 Euros. It is a very easy drive, staying on the A10 all the way from Paris to Sabres. Click here to view maps of the region.

Train

You can travel to Bordeaux via Eurotunnel and TGV, with a simple walk across the platfrom at Lille station. Check Channel Tunnel prices on www.eurotunnel.com.

For students who are seasoned travellers and who wish to travel by train to Bordeaux, please note that they will not be met at the station but must make their own way to the airport using the airport bus.

"The trip was very positive in other respects as well as the improvement to their French – it’s a very safe way of sending one’s child on their first solo travelling experience." Mrs K. Firth.
